Job Snapshot

Job Description

Litigation Attorney — Real Estate / Commercial Litigation Southfield, MI (Detroit Metro) — On-Site with Remote Flexibility

Confidential application process

A respected litigation firm is looking to add an experienced attorney with substantive litigation experience to their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned litigator — ideally with a real estate or mortgage litigation background — to step into a substantive, circuit court-heavy caseload with a firm that values deep litigation expertise over a narrow practice niche.

While 5-15 years of experience will be considered, the firm has a strong preference for attorneys in the 10-15 year range who bring real, hands-on litigation chops rather than a purely transactional or desk-bound background.

What they're looking for:

  • 5-15 years of litigation experience, with a strong preference for 10-15 years
  • Real estate or mortgage litigation experience strongly preferred — circuit court experience in real estate matters is a significant plus
  • General commercial litigation experience will also be considered for the right candidate
  • Candidates with primarily insurance defense backgrounds are welcome to apply, but the firm is prioritizing attorneys with broader or more robust litigation experience beyond insurance defense alone
  • Demonstrated courtroom and circuit court experience
  • Strong legal writing, research, and case management skills
  • Ability to manage a substantive caseload independently

Logistics:

  • On-site in Southfield, MI (roughly 20 minutes from Detroit)
  • Up to 5 remote days per month
  • Compensation: $135,000 - $150,000, depending on experience

Benefits:

  • Full medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Retirement plan
  • PTO
