Medical Malpractice Defense Associate Attorney (3–5 Years)

A highly respected regional law firm is seeking a Medical Malpractice Defense Associate Attorney with 3–5 years of civil litigation experience to join its expanding healthcare defense practice. This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney looking to gain significant hands-on litigation experience, receive strong mentorship, and grow within a collaborative and well-established firm.

The ideal candidate will be eager to take ownership of cases while working alongside experienced litigators representing healthcare providers and long-term care facilities in complex defense matters.

Responsibilities

  • Manage medical malpractice and healthcare defense cases through all phases of litigation.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategy.
  • Handle written discovery, depositions, and motion practice.
  • Prepare for mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, expert witnesses, opposing counsel, and the courts.
  • Work collaboratively with partners while progressively assuming greater responsibility for case management.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Massachusetts or ability to become licensed.
  • 3–5 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in medical malpractice, healthcare defense, insurance defense, or general civil litigation.
  • Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple matters in a fast-paced litigation environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-focused approach.
