Senior Commercial Litigation Associate (5–7 Years)

An established and highly respected Texas law firm recognized for its outstanding litigation practice and reputation for excellence is seeking a Senior Commercial Litigation Associate with 5–7 years of experience to join its growing team. Position Overview

The successful candidate will manage sophisticated commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution, including strategic case development, discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation. This role offers meaningful client interaction, significant courtroom exposure, and opportunities to assume increasing responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts.
  • Draft and argue substantive motions, briefs, and pleadings.
  • Conduct and defend depositions.
  • Handle written discovery and electronic discovery.
  • Develop litigation strategy alongside experienced trial attorneys.
  • Participate in mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials.
  • Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and experts.
  • Mentor junior associates and collaborate across litigation teams.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Texas (or ability to become licensed promptly).
  • 5–7 years of commercial litigation experience.
  • Strong experience with:
    • Business disputes
    • Breach of contract litigation
    • Partnership and shareholder disputes
    • Business torts
    • Fraud claims
    • Fiduciary duty litigation
    • Complex civil litigation
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Deposition and courtroom experience preferred.
  • Ability to independently manage an active litigation caseload.
  • Strong client communication and business judgment.
