📍 Location: North Central Texas (onsite with hybrid flexibility after training period)

💰 Salary: $55,000 – $85,000 annually (based on experience)

Position Summary

The Title Officer will be responsible for title searches, preparing title commitments, managing and disbursing closed files, clearing title issues, and completing post-closing documentation. This is a remote role handling approximately 15–20 files per month, primarily residential with occasional commercial transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct residential, acreage, and commercial title abstracts and examinations.
  • Review title records and determine insurability of real property transactions.
  • Utilize Title Data Plant, PACER, and OFAC search platforms.
  • Ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency while adhering to internal and underwriter guidelines.
  • Identify title defects and provide practical, creative curative solutions.
  • Make appropriate in-house risk-based underwriting decisions with support from leadership.
  • Communicate with underwriting counsel regarding unique or complex title issues.
  • Collaborate closely with the Title Plant Manager and examination team.

Qualifications

  • Approximately 2-5+ years of title examination experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Texas title insurance and examination practices.
  • Experience with residential title examination required.
  • Commercial and acreage examination experience strongly preferred for Senior Title Examiner consideration.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
