Environmental Engineering Technician
Full-Time | $75,000–$80,000 Base + 12% Annual Bonus + Relocation Assistance
We're partnering with a well-established energy company in Southeast Montana to find an Environmental Engineering Technician who enjoys a mix of field work and technology. If you have experience with surveying, environmental compliance, GIS, AutoCAD, drones, construction support, or civil engineering technology, this could be an excellent opportunity to grow your career.
This role offers the chance to work with cutting-edge drone technology, GPS surveying equipment, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and environmental monitoring systems while supporting large-scale engineering and environmental projects.
What You'll Do
- Perform field surveying using GPS and drone technology.
- Assist with environmental compliance and monitoring activities.
- Collect and document environmental samples and field data.
- Support construction projects through surveying and site observations.
- Process survey data using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, and related software.
- Assist with air quality testing and water management activities.
- Calculate volumes, elevations, and site measurements.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and environmental teams to ensure projects are completed safely and in compliance with regulations.
What We're Looking For
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Surveying, Construction Management, GIS, Geomatics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with surveying, GPS equipment, drones/UAVs, GIS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Carlson Software is highly desirable.
- Background in environmental compliance, construction inspection, field engineering, environmental consulting, utilities, mining, heavy civil construction, or similar industries is a plus.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both outdoors in the field and in an office environment.

- AutoCAD or Civil 3D
- GIS or ArcGIS
- Drone surveying or photogrammetry
- GPS/Trimble/Leica survey equipment
- Environmental permitting or compliance
- Air or water quality monitoring
