Compensation: $200,000–$240,000 annually, plus performance bonuses

The Opportunity

A leading international law firm is seeking a Senior Insurance Coverage Litigation Attorney to join its Southern California team. This is an opportunity to work on sophisticated liability-policy coverage matters for domestic and international insurer clients across a broad range of industries.

The successful candidate will take a leadership role on complex coverage files, manage an active caseload independently, and work within a collaborative, high-performing team with access to a global platform and substantial professional-development resources.

Practice Focus

The practice includes complex insurance coverage litigation and advisory work involving:

  • Commercial general liability coverage
  • Construction-related claims
  • Energy-sector matters
  • Entertainment-industry risks
  • Maritime-related claims
  • Other complex liability-policy disputes

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze insurance policies, claims, and coverage issues
  • Prepare coverage opinions and provide strategic advice to insurer clients
  • Conduct detailed legal research and draft memoranda
  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, correspondence, and other litigation materials
  • Manage coverage litigation matters from initial assessment through resolution
  • Attend and support depositions, hearings, mediations, and other proceedings
  • Prioritize and manage multiple sensitive, time-sensitive matters
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and clients to develop practical coverage and litigation strategies

Qualifications

  • Active California Bar admission required
  • 6+ years of complex insurance coverage litigation experience
  • Strong commercial general liability coverage experience
  • Federal court experience required
  • Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, organizational, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to independently manage an active caseload and exercise sound professional judgment
  • Strong academic credentials

Additional admission in Texas, New York, Washington, or Colorado is an asset.

  • Base salary of $200,000–$240,000, commensurate with experience
