JOB DESCRIPTION

A growing and well-established industrial construction contractor is seeking an experienced Fabrication Shop Manager to lead its electrical prefabrication operations. This individual will oversee the day-to-day activities of the fabrication shop, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards while supporting field operations across multiple industrial construction projects.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage all daily operations of the electrical prefabrication shop

  • Supervise fabrication personnel and ensure a safe, productive, and high-quality work environment

  • Develop and maintain production schedules to support field installation deadlines

  • Coordinate with Prefabrication, Virtual Construction, Project Management, and Field Operations teams to ensure project success

  • Monitor shop productivity, labor utilization, material flow, and equipment performance

  • Develop and implement quality control procedures and ensure fabrication standards are consistently met

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles and best practices

  • Forecast manpower needs and assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and employee development

  • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed

  • Work closely with Human Resources on employee relations, performance management, and personnel matters

  • Assist estimating teams with fabrication-related budgets and project planning as needed

  • Build strong working relationships with internal departments and field leadership to improve scheduling, packaging, kitting, and material delivery processes

  • Identify opportunities to improve shop efficiency, workflow, and overall operational performance

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and applicable electrical codes

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical construction or electrical prefabrication

  • Previous experience managing fabrication shop personnel or production teams strongly preferred

  • Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, materials, and prefabrication processes

  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), applicable local codes, and OSHA safety regulations

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and construction documents

  • Experience managing production schedules, labor planning, material costs, and equipment utilization

  • Strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience is preferred

  • Ability to lead multiple priorities in a fast-paced industrial construction environment

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Salary Range: 115k to 140k DOE
