A growing and well-established industrial construction contractor is seeking an experienced Fabrication Shop Manager to lead its electrical prefabrication operations. This individual will oversee the day-to-day activities of the fabrication shop, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards while supporting field operations across multiple industrial construction projects.

Lead and manage all daily operations of the electrical prefabrication shop
Supervise fabrication personnel and ensure a safe, productive, and high-quality work environment
Develop and maintain production schedules to support field installation deadlines
Coordinate with Prefabrication, Virtual Construction, Project Management, and Field Operations teams to ensure project success
Monitor shop productivity, labor utilization, material flow, and equipment performance
Develop and implement quality control procedures and ensure fabrication standards are consistently met
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles and best practices
Forecast manpower needs and assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and employee development
Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed
Work closely with Human Resources on employee relations, performance management, and personnel matters
Assist estimating teams with fabrication-related budgets and project planning as needed
Build strong working relationships with internal departments and field leadership to improve scheduling, packaging, kitting, and material delivery processes
Identify opportunities to improve shop efficiency, workflow, and overall operational performance
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and applicable electrical codes
Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical construction or electrical prefabrication
Previous experience managing fabrication shop personnel or production teams strongly preferred
Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, materials, and prefabrication processes
Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), applicable local codes, and OSHA safety regulations
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and construction documents
Experience managing production schedules, labor planning, material costs, and equipment utilization
Strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience is preferred
Ability to lead multiple priorities in a fast-paced industrial construction environment
