Job Description

Litigation Attorney

We are looking to add a Litigation Attorney to our team—someone who enjoys handling a diverse caseload, takes ownership of their work, and wants the opportunity to build a long-term career with our firm.

Our practice represents businesses, professionals, property owners, associations, and individuals in a wide range of civil litigation matters. Because of the variety of cases we handle, I'm not looking for someone with experience in every practice area. Instead, I'm looking for a strong litigator with a solid foundation.

Compensation will be based on experience and practice area expterise: Ideal range is $120,000 - $160,000+

What You'll Do

You'll manage a diverse litigation caseload from inception through resolution while working closely with clients and collaborating with experienced attorneys. Responsibilities include:

  • Drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
  • Conducting written discovery and managing all phases of the discovery process
  • Taking and defending depositions
  • Appearing in court for hearings, conferences, and other proceedings
  • Participating in mediations, settlement negotiations, and alternative dispute resolution
  • Developing litigation strategy and preparing matters for trial when necessary
  • Building strong client relationships through regular communication and practical legal counsel

What I'm Looking For

  • Active Illinois Bar license
  • At  a minimum, 3+ years of civil litigation experience
  • Strong legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
  • Experience with motion practice, discovery, depositions, and court appearances
  • A self-motivated attorney who enjoys working directly with clients and managing cases independently

All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations. GPAC (Growing People and Companies) is an award-winning search firm specializing in placing quality professionals within multiple industries across the United States since 1990. We are extremely competitive, client-focused and realize that our value is in our ability to deliver the right solutions at the right time.
