A respected employee-owned engineering consulting firm is seeking a Survey Operations Manager to lead survey operations and support continued growth in the Chicago market.
This is an opportunity for an experienced survey professional who wants to combine technical leadership, project management, client development, and team mentorship.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and grow a talented survey team.
- Manage survey projects from start to finish, including:
- Budgets
- Schedules
- Staffing
- Contracts
- Client communication
- Build and maintain relationships with:
- Municipalities
- Developers
- Private-sector clients
- Transportation agencies
- Identify new business opportunities and help expand the survey practice.
- Review and oversee survey deliverables, including:
- Plats
- Legal descriptions
- Survey documentation
- Perform quality control reviews to ensure accuracy and project success.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams on multidisciplinary projects.
- Support field survey activities when needed.
What They’re Looking For
- 8+ years of professional surveying experience.
- Active Illinois Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license.
- Experience managing survey projects and client relationships.
- Background working with municipalities, developers, or private clients.
- Proven business development experience.
- Previous leadership or team management experience preferred.
- Experience with Trimble survey equipment/software is a plus.
- Civil 3D and/or MicroStation experience preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $135,000–$160,000(Based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit.)
