A well-established food distribution company with more than 30 years of success is seeking an Assistant Warehouse Manager to join its leadership team in Southeastern Virginia. This organization supplies a diverse portfolio to food manufacturers, commercial kitchens, distributors, and private-label customers, and has built a reputation for quality, innovation, and exceptional customer service.
What You'll Do
- Partner with the Warehouse Manager to oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, inventory, and order fulfillment.
- Lead, coach, and develop warehouse associates while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Improve warehouse efficiency through process optimization, inventory accuracy, and workflow enhancements.
- Help oversee equipment maintenance, staffing, scheduling, and operational reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure outstanding customer service and on-time delivery performance.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of warehouse leadership experience within food distribution, food manufacturing, or a similar environment.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing inventory, warehouse operations, and process improvements.
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
