I am working with multiple highly regarded Vancouver business law firms seeking experienced Corporate / Commercial Solicitors to join established transactional practices.

These opportunities are particularly well suited to experienced lawyers who have developed strong client relationships, enjoy working autonomously, and are looking for a platform where they can continue growing their practice without sacrificing sophisticated work or collegiality.

The specific practice mix varies by firm, with current needs concentrated in corporate/commercial transactions, commercial lending and finance, commercial real estate, M&A, and related business law matters.

Opportunity #1 – Corporate / Commercial Solicitor

Experience: 5–10+ Years
Portable Business: Partial book of business required/preferred

A growing mid-market business law platform is seeking an entrepreneurial solicitor to help expand its Vancouver corporate and commercial practice.

The successful candidate will bring experience in several of the following:

• Corporate and commercial transactions
• Banking and finance
• Commercial real estate
• Mergers and acquisitions
• Franchise matters
• Corporate reorganizations and tax-related transactions
• General business advisory work

The firm has existing workflow available, but this opportunity is best suited to a lawyer with a partial portable book of business who wants to continue building their practice.

Experience: 5+ Years
Portable Business: Partial book required
Primary Focus: Commercial Lending / Financial Institutions

A respected Vancouver business law firm is seeking an experienced solicitor with a strong background in commercial lending and secured finance, ideally including experience representing financial institutions.

The successful candidate may also have complementary corporate/commercial or commercial real estate experience.

Relevant experience may include:

• Acting for institutional and private lenders
• Commercial loan and financing transactions
• Loan and security documentation
• Mortgages and secured lines of credit
• Construction and development financing
• Mezzanine and secondary financing
• Interlender arrangements
• Guarantees
• PPSA matters and registrations
• Commercial real estate transactions
• General corporate and commercial matters

This opportunity is particularly attractive for a lawyer who enjoys sophisticated business law work but prefers a nimble, relationship-driven firm environment over a highly institutionalized large-firm structure.

• Excellent business judgment and client relationship skills
• Interest in business development and long-term practice growth
• A partial portable practice, particularly for the more senior opportunities
