About the Opportunity

A respected law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its Scottsdale team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with civil litigation experience who is interested in working on sophisticated insurance coverage matters, coverage analysis, opinion writing, and litigation.

The firm is open to attorneys coming from a variety of civil litigation backgrounds and does not require prior insurance coverage experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform insurance coverage analysis and legal research
  • Draft coverage opinions, memoranda, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
  • Handle litigation matters from inception through resolution
  • Develop case strategy and evaluate legal and factual issues
  • Conduct discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests
  • Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and other proceedings
  • Communicate with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and other parties
  • Manage multiple matters while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality work

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Active Arizona Bar license preferred/required
  • Civil litigation experience required
  • Experience in insurance defense, insurance coverage, or coverage analysis is a plus, but not required
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Excellent analytical and communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a legal team
