About the Opportunity Are you looking for true industrial electrical and controls ownership without having to work nights? A premier, specialty-food manufacturer with over 35 years of industry success and continuous expansion is hiring a Day Shift Electrical Technician.
Instead of fixing the same machine on the same line every day, you will take ownership of a diverse automation platform—diagnosing 480V power, VFDs, servos, PLCs, robotics, and safety circuits across freezing, cooking, and high-speed packaging lines.
Core Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair 480V 3-phase electrical equipment, motor controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and servo systems.
- Diagnose PLC I/O, ladder logic, and HMI faults using Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms.
- Perform root-cause troubleshooting on robotics (ABB, Fanuc), instrumentation, sensors, and machine-safety circuits.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, trace electrical schematics, update drawings, and identify critical spare parts.
- Support capital equipment projects, contractor activities, and continuous process improvements.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of hands-on industrial electrical maintenance experience (food, beverage, or automated high-speed processing strongly preferred).
- Technical Skills: Proven ability to troubleshoot 480V power systems, VFDs, motor controls, and PLCs independently.
- Credentials: A New Jersey electrical license, journeyman card, or apprentice registration is a plus (not required).
- Schedule Flexibility: Comfortable with a 6:00 AM start time and occasional overtime coverage when plant needs arise.
Why Apply?
- Competitive Compensation: $25–$40/hour dependent on experience.
- Comprehensive Benefits Package: Medical, vision, dental, PTO, and retirement options.
- Consistent Work Schedule: Day-shift schedule (M–F) with an established, stable company that is actively growing.
- Skill Advancement: Deepen your controls, PLC, and robotics exposure in a modern, sustainability-minded production facility.
