Seeking an experienced Federal Quality Control Manager (QCM) to join an established federal contractor on a major $150M ground-up project.

This is a traveling, onsite position ideal for a seasoned quality professional with a strong background overseeing quality control on large, complex federal construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the overall QC program, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, federal regulations, project specifications, and the contractor’s quality standards.

This is a high-profile opportunity to work on a significant federal project with an established contractor and the potential for continued federal project opportunities after completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the project-wide Quality Control program for a $150M federal construction project.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the project Quality Control Plan (QCP).
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with contract documents, plans, specifications, codes, and applicable federal requirements.
  • Manage and oversee preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, documentation, and quality-control activities with project management, superintendents, subcontractors, and government representatives.
  • Maintain accurate QC documentation, daily reports, inspection records, testing records, submittals, and deficiency logs.
  • Identify quality issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented and properly documented.
  • Coordinate with government inspectors, contracting officers, and other federal representatives.
  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, schedules, and other project documentation for quality-related concerns.
  • Conducting regular site inspections to verify work is being completed in accordance with approved plans and specifications.
  • Monitor subcontractor and supplier compliance with project quality requirements.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide updates regarding quality, deficiencies, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure all required testing and inspections are completed and documented.
  • Support project closeout activities, punch lists, commissioning requirements, and turnover documentation.
  • Promote a strong quality culture across the project team and ensure adherence to federal construction standards.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Quality Control Manager, Federal QCM, QC Manager, Superintendent/QC Manager, or Federal Superintendent with significant QC responsibility.
  • Experience managing QC on large, ground-up federal construction projects.
  • Strong experience with complex projects valued at $50M+.
  • Previous USACE, NAVFAC, DoD, or other federal construction experience strongly preferred.
  • CQM certification is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of federal construction specifications, quality-control procedures, inspection requirements, and documentation.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and contract requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with project management, field supervision, subcontractors, and government personnel.
  • Must be comfortable working in a demanding, fast-paced construction environment.
