Electrical Technician – Night Shift

Location: Bergen County, NJ

Compensation: $30–$45/hour + Benefits

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM–1:30 AM

A growing, established food manufacturer is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician for its night-shift maintenance team. This is a true industrial electrical and controls role for someone who enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment and wants broad exposure to automation.

You'll work hands-on with 480V systems, PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, HMIs, robotics, instrumentation, servos, and automated production equipment while serving as a key electrical resource for Maintenance and Production.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot 480V three-phase electrical systems, VFDs, motor controls, and automated equipment.

  • Diagnose PLC-controlled equipment using I/O and ladder logic.

  • Troubleshoot Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC/HMI systems.

  • Support robotics, servo drives, sensors, instrumentation, and safety circuits.

  • Perform electrical preventive maintenance and support equipment reliability.

  • Identify recurring failures and participate in root-cause analysis.

  • Read and maintain electrical schematics and documentation.

  • Work with Production and Maintenance to safely minimize equipment downtime.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience.

  • Strong troubleshooting experience with 480V, VFDs, and motor controls.

  • Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled industrial equipment.

  • Ability to read electrical schematics and independently diagnose equipment issues.

  • Knowledge of industrial automation, instrumentation, and machine safety.

  • Food or beverage manufacturing experience strongly preferred.

  • Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens experience preferred.

  • Robotics and servo experience is a plus.

  • NJ electrical license, journeyman card, or apprentice registration is a plus, not required.
