Maintenance Manager – Food Manufacturing

gpac is working with a well-established, rapidly growing national food manufacturer seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations within a high-volume production facility.
This individual will be responsible for building a strong maintenance team, improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and supporting continued plant growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and mentor a multi-skilled maintenance team across all production shifts
- Oversee daily maintenance operations, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and work-order execution
- Improve equipment reliability, uptime, and overall plant performance
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, USDA, HACCP, refrigeration, and plant safety requirements
- Manage the maintenance budget, parts inventory, contractors, and vendor relationships
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Quality to support production goals
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce downtime and extend equipment life
- Support capital projects, equipment installations, and facility upgrades
Qualifications
- 5+ years of maintenance leadership within food, beverage, protein, or a similar high-volume manufacturing environment
- Meat or protein processing experience is preferred but not required
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and industrial troubleshooting knowledge
- Experience with ammonia refrigeration, packaging equipment, conveyors, and processing machinery
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage KPIs, and create accountability
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, safety programs, and maintenance best practices
