Senior Project Engineer – Commercial Construction

Austin, TX

A leading Austin area commercial general contractor is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone ready to take on more responsibility, work alongside experienced project leadership, and contribute to large-scale, high-profile commercial projects throughout the Austin market.

This position is ideal for a Project Engineer who has built a solid foundation in commercial construction and is looking for the next step toward an Assistant Project Manager / Project Manager career path.

What You’ll Do

• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent throughout all phases of construction
• Manage RFIs, submittals, project documentation, drawing logs, and procurement tracking
• Assist with subcontractor coordination, buyout, contracts, and change orders
• Track project costs, schedules, commitments, and potential impacts
• Participate in owner, architect, subcontractor, and project team meetings
• Coordinate closely with field operations to help keep projects moving on schedule
• Review plans, specifications, and project documents for accuracy and constructability
• Assist with closeout, punch lists, turnover documentation, and project completion
• Take increasing ownership of project management responsibilities as experience grows

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of experience with a commercial general contractor
• Experience supporting ground-up and/or large-scale commercial construction projects
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
• Strong understanding of construction documents, RFIs, submittals, change management, and project controls
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with both field and project management teams
• Someone who wants to continue developing into a Project Manager
