Build Your Book. Grow Your Earnings. Own Your Success.

A stable, established, and growing transportation and logistics company in California's Central Coast is seeking a driven Account Executive to join its expanding team.

This opportunity is built for a sales professional with a true hunter mentality—someone who enjoys developing new business, building long-term customer relationships, and having the ability to significantly increase their earnings through commissions and bonuses.

The company offers the stability and resources of a long-standing organization while maintaining the culture and autonomy of a small-to-midsize company without heavy corporate micromanagement.

If you've built your career in freight brokerage, third-party logistics (3PL), freight forwarding, or transportation sales and you're ready for an opportunity where performance can directly impact your income and career growth, this could be an excellent next step.

What You'll Do

As an Account Executive, you'll be responsible for developing new customer relationships and growing transportation business across multiple modes and service offerings.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers.
  • Conduct outbound sales through calls, email, networking, referrals, and other business-development strategies.
  • Develop relationships with shippers and decision-makers.
  • Understand customer transportation challenges and develop logistics solutions around their needs.
  • Grow and manage customer accounts while identifying additional revenue opportunities.
  • Work with internal operations teams to ensure successful execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Negotiate and communicate transportation solutions with customers.
  • Maintain consistent follow-up with prospects and existing accounts.
  • Develop long-term customer relationships that generate repeat and expanded business.
  • Meet and exceed individual sales and revenue goals.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, prospect, and account activity.
  • Stay informed about freight markets, customer needs, and transportation trends.

Transportation Solutions

You'll have the ability to sell a broad portfolio of transportation solutions rather than being limited to a single freight mode.

The organization's capabilities include:

Full Truckload (FTL) | Less-than-Truckload (LTL) | Intermodal/Rail | Temperature-Controlled Freight | Food-Grade Tankers | Flatbed | Heavy Haul | Dry Freight | Air Freight | Ocean Freight

The company supports freight movement throughout the continental United States, Canada, and Mexico, along with international export capabilities.

That variety gives the Account Executive the opportunity to approach customers as a transportation solutions partner, rather than selling a single service.

What We're Looking For

We're particularly interested in an ambitious sales professional with approximately 2–3+ years of transportation/logistics sales experience who is ready to take the next step in their career.

Ideal backgrounds include:

  • Freight Brokerage
  • Non-Asset-Based 3PL
  • Freight Forwarding
  • Transportation Sales
  • Logistics Sales
  • Account Management with significant new-business development
  • Business Development within transportation/logistics

What Will Make You Successful

The strongest candidate will bring:

  • A genuine hunter mentality and desire to win new business.
  • Proven B2B sales and prospecting ability.
  • Experience developing relationships with shippers and transportation decision-makers.
  • Knowledge of freight brokerage, 3PL, freight forwarding, or transportation services.
  • Strong outbound prospecting and cold-calling skills.
  • Ability to build and manage a sales pipeline.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
  • Motivation to earn a significant portion of total compensation through performance-based commissions and bonuses.
  • Ability to operate independently without needing constant supervision.
  • An entrepreneurial and results-driven approach to sales.
  • Desire to build long-term customer relationships rather than focus only on transactional sales.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

Strong Earning Potential

This is an opportunity for a sales professional who wants their performance to have a meaningful impact on their compensation. A competitive commission and bonus structure provides significant upside beyond the $75K–$90K base salary.

Established & Stable Organization

Join a long-standing transportation company with an established presence in the industry rather than an organization still trying to find its footing.

Low-Turnover Culture

The company has built a reputation for employee tenure, stability, and a supportive working environment.

Autonomy Without Corporate Micromanagement

This is a small-to-midsize organization where successful sales professionals have room to perform without layers of corporate oversight.

Broad Service Portfolio

Instead of being limited to selling one transportation mode, you'll have access to solutions across truckload, LTL, intermodal, temperature-controlled, specialized, air, ocean, and international transportation.

Career Growth

The organization is continuing to grow, creating an opportunity to establish yourself as part of an expanding team and contribute directly to its future success.

Location

This is an onsite opportunity in the greater Arroyo Grande / Central Coast market.

Candidates located throughout the Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria, and surrounding Central Coast areas are encouraged to apply.

Ready for Your Next Sales Opportunity?

If you're currently successful in transportation sales but want greater earning potential, autonomy, stability, and the opportunity to grow with an established organization, we'd like to speak with you.

This position is particularly well suited for someone who is hungry to develop new business, motivated by commission, and confident in their ability to build relationships and generate revenue.
