Maintenance Engineer
Northwest Minneapolis Area | $34-$41/hour | Monday-Friday Day Shift
A leading food processing equipment company is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join its technical applications team in the Northwest Minneapolis area.
This opportunity is well suited for an experienced maintenance professional who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting but wants the opportunity to broaden their technical expertise beyond routine plant maintenance.
The Maintenance Engineer will support specialized food processing and milling equipment used for testing, product development, process optimization, and customer applications. The position combines mechanical and electrical troubleshooting with exposure to PLC-controlled equipment, automation systems, equipment setup, and overall process performance.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and automation-related equipment issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance and support equipment reliability.
- Assist with equipment setup and changeovers.
- Support customer trials and product testing activities.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
- Work with PLC-controlled equipment and automated processing systems.
- Follow established SOPs and ensure equipment is properly configured for testing and operational activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and process performance.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and technical teams.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of maintenance experience within food, beverage, or industrial manufacturing.
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with PLCs, automation systems, and industrial controls.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and equipment layouts.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
- Associate degree in Maintenance Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
