Commercial Construction Project Manager

A well-established and growing general contractor is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional with a diverse project background, particularly in restoration, federal, public, education, and general contracting.

The ideal candidate will be a strong leader who can manage projects from preconstruction through closeout while maintaining control of schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion and closeout
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost reports, and forecasts
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, architects, engineers, inspectors, and field personnel
  • Review contracts, plans, specifications, scopes of work, and project requirements
  • Manage project buyout, procurement, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and pay applications
  • Monitor project costs and profitability while identifying potential budget issues
  • Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with clients and project stakeholders
  • Work closely with Superintendents and field teams to ensure projects remain on schedule and meet quality standards
  • Manage restoration and renovation projects while minimizing disruption to occupied facilities when applicable
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements on public and government projects
  • Identify and resolve project issues, conflicts, and scheduling challenges
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and provide regular updates to company leadership
  • Build and maintain strong client and subcontractor relationships
  • Oversee project closeout, punch lists, warranty requirements, and final documentation

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial construction project management experience
  • Proven experience with general contracting and commercial construction
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
    • Restoration and renovation
    • Federal construction
    • Public works
    • Education/K-12 or higher education
    • Government or municipal projects
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, plans, specifications, and project documentation
  • Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and change orders
  • Excellent communication, organization, negotiation, and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
  • Proficiency with construction management and scheduling software
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred but not required
