About the Opportunity

Our client, a growing and highly regarded law firm with a sophisticated bankruptcy and restructuring practice, is seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Attorney with a strong focus on Chapter 11 matters to join its team on a fully remote basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys complex restructuring work, has strong legal and analytical skills, and wants the flexibility of a remote practice while working on sophisticated Chapter 11 matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent debtors, creditors, committees, and other stakeholders in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Manage Chapter 11 cases from initial strategy through confirmation, emergence, or other resolution.
  • Draft and review bankruptcy pleadings, motions, briefs, plans of reorganization, disclosure statements, and related documents.
  • Conduct legal research and provide strategic advice regarding bankruptcy and restructuring issues.
  • Participate in hearings, negotiations, mediations, and meetings with clients and opposing counsel.
  • Analyze financial, operational, and legal issues affecting distressed companies.
  • Work closely with clients, financial advisors, opposing counsel, and other professionals.
  • Manage multiple matters while maintaining strong attention to deadlines and case details.
  • Contribute to the firm's continued growth and development of its bankruptcy and restructuring practice.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 6+ years of bankruptcy experience, with substantial Chapter 11 experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure.
  • Experience drafting bankruptcy pleadings, motions, briefs, plans, disclosure statements, or related documents.
  • Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to independently manage matters and work effectively in a remote environment.
  • Excellent judgment, organization, communication, and client-management skills.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience representing Chapter 11 debtors, creditors, creditor committees, lenders, or other major stakeholders are particularly encouraged to apply.

Experience with complex or mid-market Chapter 11 restructurings, contested matters, bankruptcy litigation, §363 transactions, plan negotiations, or bankruptcy-related M&A is a plus.
