Senior Labor & Employment Attorney / Junior Partner

California | Remote or Hybrid | 

A highly respected, established California law firm is seeking a Senior Labor & Employment Attorney with 5+ years of experience to join its sophisticated and growing L&E practice.

This is a confidential opportunity for an experienced employment litigator who is looking for meaningful responsibility, high-quality work, and the opportunity to take the next step in their career. The role is open to attorneys operating at the Senior Associate or Junior Partner level, depending on experience and business development background.

The Opportunity

The L&E practice represents a diverse range of employers across a broad spectrum of industries, handling sophisticated and often high-stakes employment matters.

The attorney in this role will have the opportunity to run cases with partner support as needed, while working directly with clients and opposing counsel. This position can be located in LA, San Diego or Orange County if a remote role is not preferred. 

Responsibilities may include:

• Managing complex employment litigation from inception through resolution
• Handling individual FEHA, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination matters
• Working on class action and PAGA litigation
• Drafting and arguing dispositive and other substantive motions
• Taking and defending depositions
• Managing discovery and interacting directly with opposing counsel
• Participating in mediations, hearings, and trials
• Conducting legal research and developing litigation strategy
• Advising clients on employment-related issues as needed

For more experienced attorneys, there is also an opportunity to take on a leadership role within the practice and develop or bring in business. The firm provides the platform, resources, and support for attorneys interested in continuing to grow their own practice.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a strong employment litigator who is comfortable taking ownership of matters and interacting directly with clients.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of California Labor & Employment litigation experience
  • Plaintiff and Defense candidates are considered 
• Active California Bar membership in good standing
• Strong experience with employment litigation, including FEHA and wrongful termination matters
• Class action and/or PAGA experience strongly preferred
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Ability to independently manage matters while working effectively with a team
• Strong client-service skills and professional judgment

Experience with advice and counseling, workplace investigations, handbooks, policies, and compliance matters is a plus.
