Surgical/Clinical PA-C
A specialized surgical practice in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking an experienced Surgical/Clinical PA-C to support patients throughout the preoperative, operative, and postoperative stages of care.
A typical day for the Surgical/Clinical PA-C may include completing patient evaluations, reviewing medical histories, coordinating treatment plans, assisting with in-office procedures, providing postoperative care, or first assisting in the operating room.
Responsibilities may include:
Conducting preoperative and postoperative evaluations
Obtaining patient histories and completing physical examinations
Providing patient education and surgical preparation instructions
Reviewing laboratory results and coordinating medical clearances
Performing wound assessments, dressing changes, drain removal, and suture removal
Monitoring healing and identifying potential postoperative complications
Assisting with medication management and postoperative recovery plans
Coordinating care between patients, surgeons, clinical staff, and outside providers
First assisting in surgery, depending on the selected position and experience
Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation
The ideal Surgical/Clinical PA-C is compassionate, organized, clinically confident, and comfortable supporting patients through highly personal and medically complex surgical journeys.
This Surgical/Clinical PA-C position is an excellent fit for someone with experience in plastic surgery, general surgery, emergency medicine, perioperative care, or another transferable patient-focused specialty.
The selected Surgical/Clinical PA-C will work onsite as part of a collaborative surgical team dedicated to providing respectful, individualized care and strong patient outcomes.
Candidates should be well-versed in gender-affirming care or demonstrate a sincere professional interest in developing expertise within this area of medicine.
