ASL TRUCK DRIVER
Safely and efficiently operate an Automated Side Loader (ASL) waste collection truck while servicing residential and/or commercial customers. We are looking for dependable, safety-focused drivers with ASL, waste management, or similar heavy-truck experience.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Safely operate an Automated Side Loader (ASL) waste collection truck on assigned routes.
- Collect and transport waste, refuse, and recyclable materials.
- Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Safely operate hydraulic and automated side-loading equipment.
- Follow assigned routes, schedules, and company procedures.
- Properly position the truck and safely service waste containers.
- Report mechanical issues, equipment damage, and safety concerns.
- Maintain a clean and safe vehicle and work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and applicable DOT regulations.
- Complete required logs, inspection reports, and paperwork.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service.
- Communicate with dispatch and supervisors regarding route or equipment issues.
- Attend required safety meetings and training.
- Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
ASL Truck Drivers must:
- Have previous Automated Side Loader (ASL), side-loader, or similar truck driving experience, OR experience in the waste management, refuse, sanitation, or recycling industry.
- Possess a valid driver's license and CDL, if required for the assigned vehicle.
- Complete and pass a drug, alcohol, background screen, and Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
- Have a safe driving record and strong safety awareness.
- Be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Communicate effectively in English and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Be able to work outdoors and perform the physical requirements of the position.
- Be willing to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
