ASL TRUCK DRIVER

Safely and efficiently operate an Automated Side Loader (ASL) waste collection truck while servicing residential and/or commercial customers. We are looking for dependable, safety-focused drivers with ASL, waste management, or similar heavy-truck experience.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Safely operate an Automated Side Loader (ASL) waste collection truck on assigned routes.
  • Collect and transport waste, refuse, and recyclable materials.
  • Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Safely operate hydraulic and automated side-loading equipment.
  • Follow assigned routes, schedules, and company procedures.
  • Properly position the truck and safely service waste containers.
  • Report mechanical issues, equipment damage, and safety concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and safe vehicle and work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies and applicable DOT regulations.
  • Complete required logs, inspection reports, and paperwork.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service.
  • Communicate with dispatch and supervisors regarding route or equipment issues.
  • Attend required safety meetings and training.
  • Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

ASL Truck Drivers must:

  • Have previous Automated Side Loader (ASL), side-loader, or similar truck driving experience, OR experience in the waste management, refuse, sanitation, or recycling industry.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and CDL, if required for the assigned vehicle.
  • Complete and pass a drug, alcohol, background screen, and Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Have a safe driving record and strong safety awareness.
  • Be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
  • Communicate effectively in English and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Be able to work outdoors and perform the physical requirements of the position.
  • Be willing to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
