Senior Healthcare Architect
We are seeking an experienced Senior Healthcare Architect to join our team and lead the planning, design, and delivery of complex healthcare projects. The ideal candidate will have strong healthcare design experience, a thorough understanding of applicable codes and regulatory requirements, and the ability to lead projects from concept through construction administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of healthcare projects from programming and conceptual design through construction.
- Develop innovative, functional, and code-compliant solutions for hospitals, medical facilities, outpatient clinics, and other healthcare environments.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, engineers, contractors, and internal project teams.
- Lead project teams and provide mentorship to junior architects and designers.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, documentation, and deliverables.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable healthcare regulations, building codes, accessibility requirements, and industry standards.
- Participate in client presentations, project meetings, site visits, and construction administration.
- Review drawings and specifications for quality, coordination, and constructability.
- Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development opportunities.
Qualifications
- Active architectural license required (RA or equivalent).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
- 8+ years of architectural experience, with significant experience in healthcare design.
- Proven experience leading complex healthcare projects from planning through construction.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare codes, regulations, and standards, including applicable FGI requirements.
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office; experience with additional design and project-management tools is a plus.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Experience
- Hospital, ambulatory, medical office, behavioral health, or other healthcare project experience.
- Experience working directly with healthcare clients and multidisciplinary consultant teams.
- NCIDQ certification and/or LEED accreditation is a plus.
- Experience mentoring staff and leading project teams.
