Production Lead | 1st and 2nd Shift | Greater Boston area

Gpac is working with a growing well-established food manufacturer that is seeking both 1st and 2nd Shift Production Leads for their facility in the Greater Boston area.

This position will help oversee daily operations across production areas. This role ensures production schedules set and are executed efficiently, staff are properly trained and utilized, downtime between changeovers is minimized and maintains product quality, food safety, and workflow consistency while communicating issues promptly to the Production Manager.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Supervise production staff across all sausage departments to maintain consistent workflow, efficiency, and adherence to expectations.
  • Attend pre-shift meetings with the Sausage Production Manager and Plant Manager to review daily goals. Lead post-meeting huddles with Mix & Grind, Stuffing, Packing, and Packaging teams to communicate schedules, priorities, and expectations.
  • Operate grinders, stuffers, mixers, and other production machinery as needed to support workflow. Report machinery issues to the Maintenance Department to ensure continuous production.
  •  
  • Train new employees on procedures, provide coaching, and address performance issues. Ensure staff understand product specifications, food safety requirements, and proper equipment operation.
  • Ensure casings, ingredients, labels, and packaging materials are prepared for current and next-day production. Communicate supply needs to the Sausage Production Manager.
  • Review label verification forms, monitor sausage weights every 30 minutes, and inspect products to ensure they meet Bianco specifications. Report quality concerns to the Sausage Production Manager and Production Office.
  • Ensure all production tasks are completed and that the Sausage Room—including equipment and machinery—is properly cleaned, sanitized, and broken down before the end of the shift.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying workflow issues, recommending solutions, and assisting the Manager in implementing process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to operate grinders, stuffers, mixers, and all relevant production machinery.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety policies, sanitation procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to maintain
  • efficiency, quality, and proper food handling practices.
  • Experience in multi-step sausage production processes preferred.
  • Prior leadership or lead-operator experience in food manufacturing strongly preferred.
