Job Description

An established food manufacturer is seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Mechanic / PLC Technician to support a high-volume production operation.

This is an ideal opportunity for a maintenance professional who enjoys solving difficult mechanical and electrical problems and working with a diverse equipment environment. The facility utilizes everything from modern automation to specialized legacy European machinery.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and packaging equipment
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and PLC-related equipment failures
• Troubleshoot PLCs, sensors, photo eyes, VFDs, relays, motor starters, and control circuits
• Maintain motors, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance
• Support equipment changeovers and machine setup
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings
• Troubleshoot both newer automated systems and legacy manufacturing equipment
• Coordinate with production and engineering to minimize downtime
• Maintain accurate maintenance and spare-parts records
• Follow GMP, food safety, OSHA, and company safety requirements

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate brings industrial maintenance experience from food, beverage, confectionery, pharmaceutical, or CPG manufacturing with strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities and working knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment.

Experience with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs, 480V electrical systems, packaging equipment, high-speed machinery, servo systems, or European OEM equipment is particularly valuable.
