Senior Commercial Construction Estimator
A leading commercial construction company is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead estimating efforts for complex commercial construction projects. This individual will play a key role in preconstruction, working closely with ownership, clients, architects, subcontractors, vendors, and project management teams.
Responsibilities:
Lead estimates from initial review through final bid submission.
Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and comprehensive cost analysis.
Develop conceptual, schematic, and hard-bid estimates.
Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and vendor pricing.
Analyze scopes, plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
Identify project risks, scope gaps, and opportunities for value engineering.
Develop accurate project budgets and competitive bid proposals.
Participate in preconstruction meetings and client presentations.
Mentor and provide guidance to Estimators and Assistant Estimators.
Coordinate project turnover with Project Management and Operations teams.
Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, clients, and design professionals.
Qualifications:
7+ years of commercial construction estimating experience preferred.
Strong experience with complex commercial projects.
Advanced knowledge of construction costs, materials, and means and methods.
Strong plan-reading, quantity takeoff, and cost-analysis skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities.
Experience with estimating and construction management software preferred.
