Load Planner — Flatbed Transportation

An established asset-based trucking company is seeking an experienced Load Planner to support its OTR and regional flatbed operations. We’re looking for a high-performing Load Planner who knows how to maximize revenue, optimize capacity, and keep trucks moving.

With an established fleet and a strong base of direct customer freight, this is an opportunity to step into a role where your decisions directly impact company performance and earnings. Virginia-based position; onsite preferred, remote considered for a qualified candidate.

What You’ll Do

• Plan, optimize, and execute freight across our OTR/Regional Flatbed division
• Plan safe, suitable routes based on truck and load requirements and applicable road restrictions
• Maximize revenue per truck and minimize deadhead
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and drivers
• Source and cover freight using load boards when needed
• Negotiate rates on spot market freight
• Maintain accurate and real-time updates in our TMS
• Solve problems quickly in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of hands-on truckload planning experience, with flatbed load and route planning preferred
• Proven ability to manage multiple trucks and prioritize effectively
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Experience with load boards
• Solid computer and organizational skills
• Working knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and safety regulations
• A mindset focused on performance, urgency, and results

• Base Pay: $65,000–$80,000, based on experience
