Dispatch Manager – Fuel & Tanker Transportation

Location: Houston / Pasadena, TX
Compensation: $75,000–$90,000

A long-standing and reputable regional transportation company is seeking an experienced Dispatch Manager to lead its dispatch operation in the Houston market.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who understands transportation dispatch but has progressed beyond personally managing loads. We're looking for a leader who can oversee, coach, and develop a dispatch team while ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable daily transportation operations.

Experience within fuel, petroleum, tanker, or bulk transportation is strongly preferred.

What You'll Do

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the dispatch center.
• Manage, coach, and develop a team of dispatch professionals.
• Coordinate transportation activity to maintain efficient and timely service.
• Support dispatchers in resolving driver, customer, scheduling, and operational issues.
• Monitor daily workloads and adjust priorities as operational needs change.
• Maintain strong communication between dispatch, drivers, operations, leadership, and customers.
• Help establish accountability and consistent dispatch processes.
• Monitor team performance and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
• Support training and development of dispatch personnel.
• Resolve escalated service and transportation issues.
• Ensure accurate use of transportation management systems and operational documentation.
• Promote a positive, collaborative, and performance-driven team environment.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate has:

• Proven dispatch management or supervisory experience.
• Experience directly overseeing and developing dispatch teams.
• Strong knowledge of transportation and dispatch operations.
• Fuel, petroleum, tanker, or bulk-liquid transportation experience strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and people-development skills.
• Ability to manage a fast-paced, time-sensitive transportation operation.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience handling driver, customer, and operational escalations.
• Strong organizational and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work effectively across dispatch, operations, drivers, customers, and leadership.

Technology Experience

Experience with Gravitate is highly desirable.

Candidates with experience using TMW or comparable Transportation Management Systems (TMS) are also encouraged to apply.
