A well-established South Boston law firm is looking to add an experienced Employment Attorney to its team. This is an opportunity for a self-starter who enjoys both litigation and counseling and wants meaningful responsibility working directly with employer clients. Plaintiff-side experience is a plus, as the role will involve a strong mix of employer representation, employment litigation, and proactive counseling.
Represent employers in employment-related matters in state and federal court
Handle all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, and other substantive case work
Counsel employers on employment issues, workplace matters, risk management, and compliance
Draft and review employment agreements, severance agreements, and other employment-related documents
Advise clients regarding equity compensation, stock options, vesting, and related employment considerations
Handle pre-litigation negotiations, demand letters, and dispute resolution
Conduct legal research and prepare clear, persuasive written work product
Experience practicing employment law with meaningful employer-side representation
Plaintiff-side employment experience is a plus
Strong litigation experience in state and federal court
Experience with depositions, discovery, motions, and negotiations
Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills
Comfortable counseling clients and providing practical, business-minded legal advice
Self-starter who can manage matters independently while working collaboratively with the team
