Heavy Civil Project Manager
Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee heavy civil construction projects from preconstruction through completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background managing roadway, sitework, utilities, earthwork, paving, and other public infrastructure projects. Responsibilities
- Manage heavy civil construction projects from start to finish
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, contracts, and overall execution
- Coordinate with owners, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams
- Review plans, specifications, schedules, and project requirements
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and project documentation
- Monitor project costs, progress, quality, and safety
- Work closely with superintendents and field personnel to ensure projects stay on schedule
- Identify and resolve project issues and potential delays
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget
Qualifications
- 5+ years of heavy civil construction experience
- Strong project management experience in roadway, sitework, utilities, earthwork, paving, or DOT projects
- Experience with municipal, county, state, or federal projects preferred
- Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, budgeting, and contracts
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with construction/project management software
