Wealth Adisory Firm in Indianapolis, IN is looking to add a Lead Advisor 1- Tax (equivalent to a Tax Manager)

This is a client-facing tax leadership role with accountability for the complete, accurate, and timely delivery of tax compliance and planning services for an assigned portfolio of business and individual clients.

The person will perform final technical reviews within delegated authority, own client relationships, lead tax-planning conversations, direct the work of supporting team members, and determine when returns and other deliverables are ready for filing or client delivery.  We need someone who is already capable of owning the technical quality, delivery, and client experience for an assigned portfolio—not someone seeking their first opportunity to step into those responsibilities.

Non-Negotiable Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Active CPA license
• At least five years of relevant tax experience in public accounting, tax advisory, or another multi-client environment
• Meaningful final-review experience across individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and nonprofit returns
• Demonstrated ability to resolve complex tax matters and evaluate tax positions and risks
• Experience owning multiple client relationships and leading tax-planning conversations
• Ability to assign, coordinate, review, and provide feedback on work completed by other team members
• Strong proficiency with CCH Axcess, Microsoft Excel, tax research tools, and professional workflow systems
• Strong professional judgment and the ability to translate technical tax matters into clear, practical client advice

The strongest candidates will have experience advising entrepreneurs, executives, closely held businesses, and high-net-worth individuals. Experience coaching junior tax professionals and coordinating tax advice with wealth management or business advisory services would also be beneficial.
