Litigation Legal Secretary/Assistant Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to support attorneys in a fast-paced litigation practice. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of litigation experience, strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities. Labor & Employment experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Support attorneys throughout all stages of litigation
- E-file documents in Federal and State Court
- Prepare Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities manually
- Maintain well-organized files and the integrity of original client documents
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate travel and meeting arrangements
- Coordinate with billing attorneys on monthly pre-bills and revisions
- Prepare bills for mailing, maintain billing records, and enter attorney time
- Proofread and edit correspondence, reports, tables, and other legal documents
- Perform document formatting, footnotes, redlining, copying/pasting, and document comparison
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure work product is accurate and professionally presented
- Foster positive relationships with internal and external contacts
Qualifications
- 5+ years of litigation experience
- Labor & Employment experience preferred
- Proficiency with iManage and CompuLaw
- Experience with Federal and State Court e-filing
- Ability to manually prepare Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills and proficiency with legal software
- Strong proofreading and editing skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Benefits
