VP OF TRANSPORTATION

Green Bay, Wisconsin Area

$120,000 – $135,000 Base Salary + Bonus | DOE

A growing transportation organization is seeking a VP of Transportation to lead hands-on transportation operations while also driving business development and expanding the company’s presence throughout the Green Bay market.

This is an ideal opportunity for a transportation leader who enjoys being involved in the business—not someone who wants to sit behind a desk and manage from a distance. The VP will build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, customers, shippers, and area businesses while overseeing day-to-day transportation operations and identifying opportunities for growth.

What You’ll Do

• Provide hands-on leadership and oversight of transportation operations.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers, customers, and transportation partners.
• Build relationships with local and regional businesses to identify new business opportunities.
• Develop new customer relationships while expanding existing accounts.
• Work closely with operations to ensure freight is moved safely, efficiently, and profitably.
• Help develop carrier capacity and strengthen the company’s carrier network.
• Monitor service levels, operational performance, costs, and overall profitability.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and customer service.
• Work closely with leadership on business development and growth strategies.
• Represent the company professionally within the Green Bay transportation and business community.
• Lead, coach, and support operations personnel as needed.
• Be willing to roll up your sleeves and get involved in the day-to-day business.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven leadership experience within the transportation/logistics industry.
• Strong understanding of transportation operations and carrier relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to develop business and build long-term customer relationships.
• Existing relationships within the transportation or local business community are highly valued.
• Strong understanding of freight, capacity, pricing, service, and operational requirements.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify and pursue new opportunities.
• Hands-on leadership style and willingness to work alongside the operations team.
• Strong business judgment with a focus on both customer service and profitability.

Compensation

$120,000 – $135,000 base salary + bonus, depending on experience and qualifications.
