Job Description

HVAC Service Dispatcher

West Kansas City Metro | Full-Time

A commercial mechanical contractor in the West Kansas City Metro is hiring an HVAC Service Dispatcher to join its existing service team.

This person will help coordinate the daily workload for approximately 30 field technicians across commercial and industrial service work. The role is a mix of scheduling, prioritizing calls, adjusting technician assignments throughout the day, and keeping communication moving between the field, customers, and service leadership.

The Role

The service schedule can change quickly depending on emergency calls, technician availability, job duration, customer needs, and location. This person will help manage that moving schedule and make sure work is assigned appropriately throughout the day.

You’ll be working alongside an established service and dispatch team rather than managing the entire operation on your own.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Schedule and dispatch HVAC service technicians throughout the Kansas City metro

  • Manage daily service calls, preventative maintenance work, and emergency requests

  • Assign and adjust calls based on technician availability, location, skill set, and urgency

  • Monitor the schedule throughout the day and make changes as jobs run long, priorities shift, or new calls come in

  • Stay in communication with field technicians regarding schedules, job status, and upcoming work

  • Coordinate with service leadership on technician workload and customer priorities

  • Communicate scheduling information and updates with customers

  • Create and maintain accurate service call and work-order information

  • Help keep technician travel, downtime, and scheduling gaps to a minimum

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in dispatch, service coordination, field-service scheduling, or a similar role

  • Experience coordinating multiple technicians, crews, or service calls at the same time

  • Strong organization and ability to manage changing priorities

  • Comfortable making decisions and adjusting schedules throughout the day

  • Clear communication with both field employees and customers

  • Experience with service-management, dispatch, CRM, or work-order software is helpful

HVAC experience is a plus, but it is not required. Strong dispatchers coming from plumbing, electrical, mechanical, construction, facilities, equipment service, or other field-service environments will also be considered.

About the Company

The company is an established commercial mechanical contractor that has been operating in the Kansas City market for more than 50 years.

Its work includes commercial and industrial HVAC, plumbing, piping, controls, construction, and service. The service department supports a broad range of commercial, institutional, and industrial customers throughout the area.
