St. Louis Metro | Full-Time
An established mechanical contractor in the St. Louis Metro is looking to add a Project Scheduler to support its construction operations.
This role will work closely with project managers, superintendents, preconstruction, and field teams to develop and maintain schedules for complex commercial and industrial construction projects.
We’re looking for someone who understands more than just scheduling software. The right person should be able to look at a construction schedule, understand how the work will actually be executed in the field, identify potential problems early, and help the project team keep work moving.
Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules across multiple active projects
Build schedules around project milestones, sequencing, procurement, fabrication, installation, testing, and closeout
Gather schedule updates from project managers, superintendents, field teams, and other project stakeholders
Monitor project progress and compare actual performance against baseline schedules
Identify critical-path activities, upcoming constraints, and potential schedule impacts
Help project teams evaluate schedule changes and develop recovery plans when needed
Coordinate schedules with manpower needs, material lead times, equipment deliveries, subcontractors, and field activities
Prepare schedule updates, forecasts, and reporting for project teams and leadership
Support preconstruction and project planning efforts on upcoming work
Help teams understand how changes in sequencing or project conditions may affect completion dates and overall execution
Previous experience in construction scheduling, project controls, or construction project planning
Experience developing and maintaining schedules for commercial, industrial, or other complex construction projects
Strong understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling
Experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Asta Powerproject, or similar scheduling software
Ability to read construction drawings and understand how projects are built
Understanding of project sequencing, procurement, field installation, and major construction milestones
Ability to identify schedule risk and communicate issues clearly to project and field teams
Comfortable managing multiple projects and changing priorities
Experience with a mechanical contractor is especially valuable, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, sheet metal, or other self-perform construction.
Candidates coming from general contracting, electrical construction, industrial construction, EPC, power, manufacturing, or other complex project environments will also be considered.
The biggest priority is someone who has actually owned and managed construction schedules, rather than someone whose exposure has primarily been reviewing or updating schedules as part of another position.
The work includes a mix of commercial, institutional, healthcare, industrial, manufacturing, and technically complex construction projects.
This position will interact with both office and field teams and will have visibility into projects from early planning through construction and completion.
Construction Management, Engineering, or related degree is preferred
Equivalent construction and scheduling experience will also be considered
Experience with P6 or comparable scheduling platforms is strongly preferred
Project controls, BIM/VDC, lean construction, or scheduling certifications are a plus
Health insurance
Retirement plan with company contribution
Company profit-sharing opportunity
Paid time off and paid holidays
Life insurance
Wellness benefits
Professional development and continuing education opportunities
