Structural Steel Estimator
We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive estimates for structural steel projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection and be comfortable reviewing plans, specifications, and project requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare estimates and bids for structural steel projects.
- Review drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Perform material and quantity takeoffs.
- Obtain and evaluate material, fabrication, and subcontractor pricing.
- Develop accurate labor, material, equipment, and erection costs.
- Prepare and submit competitive bids.
- Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, customers, and internal teams.
- Track bid opportunities and follow up as needed.
- Assist with change orders and project pricing when necessary.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of structural steel or steel fabrication estimating experience.
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection.
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specifications.
- Experience with material and quantity takeoffs.
- Strong math, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
