Commercial Construction SuperintendentPosition Overview
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations on commercial construction projects from pre-construction through completion. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can manage subcontractors, schedules, quality, safety, and site logistics while maintaining strong relationships with owners, project managers, and trade partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all daily on-site construction activities and field operations.
- Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
- Maintain project schedules and ensure work progresses according to established timelines.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure projects remain on budget and schedule.
- Review plans, specifications, and project documents to identify potential issues before they impact the project.
- Conduct regular jobsite meetings and coordinate upcoming work activities.
- Monitor workmanship and ensure projects meet quality standards and specifications.
- Enforce company and OSHA safety policies and maintain a safe jobsite.
- Coordinate inspections and work with inspectors, owners, architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
- Track materials, deliveries, manpower, and site logistics.
- Identify scheduling conflicts and proactively develop solutions.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, project documentation, and field records.
- Assist with project closeout, punch lists, inspections, and final completion.
- Communicate project updates, challenges, and progress to the Project Manager and leadership team.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial construction field experience preferred.
- Previous experience as a Commercial Superintendent or similar field leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, scheduling, and sequencing.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Strong understanding of OSHA and construction safety requirements.
- Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and crews.
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency with construction management software and scheduling tools is a plus.
- Ability to travel or work on active construction sites as required.
