A long-standing Texas litigation firm is seeking an associate with 2-7 years of experience in transportation defense or general insurance defense litigation to join its Dallas team. You'll manage cases from assignment through resolution, with partner support, plus bonus and origination upside.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of transportation and insurance defense matters
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery
- Take and defend depositions, and attend hearings, mediations, and trials
- Evaluate liability, damages, and exposure, and report to carriers
- Develop case strategy with partners, clients, and carriers, and negotiate settlements
Requirements
- 2-7 years of transportation defense or general insurance defense litigation experience
- Licensed to practice law in Texas, in good standing
- No substantial book of business required
- Strong research, writing, and organizational skills, and able to work independently
- Billable hours for this position: 1,750 annually
Compensation and benefits
- Base salary of $120,000-$165,000, depending on experience
- Bonuses of $2,500-$10,000+, plus a 10% origination bonus
- Raises based on performance and hours billed

Work arrangement
Full-time, in office in Dallas.
