SENIOR CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULER – COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION

A well-established Commercial General Contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Scheduler to serve as the company's scheduling subject matter expert. This individual will develop comprehensive Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules, provide scheduling expertise across projects, and lead the review and development of other schedulers.

The ideal candidate has expert-level Microsoft Project skills, a strong understanding of commercial construction sequencing, and the ability to independently build accurate, detailed schedules from construction documents, specifications, and conceptual project information.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Independently develop comprehensive CPM schedules for commercial construction projects using drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and conceptual information.
  • Build detailed project schedules with minimal input from Project Managers and Superintendents.
  • Identify critical paths, project milestones, activity durations, sequencing, dependencies, and resource constraints.
  • Utilize Microsoft Project to develop, maintain, analyze, and update construction schedules.
  • Review project progress, identify potential delays, and recommend corrective actions to maintain project timelines.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and project teams to evaluate schedule performance and address scheduling challenges.
  • Lead, mentor, and review the work of other schedulers to ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality.
  • Establish and maintain scheduling standards, best practices, and procedures across the organization.
  • Analyze schedule changes, impacts, and potential risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Communicate scheduling risks, progress, and recommendations to executive leadership and project stakeholders.
  • Support project teams with schedule development, updates, and recovery planning as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive experience in construction scheduling for a commercial General Contractor.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Project is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently develop complete CPM schedules from drawings, specifications, and conceptual project information.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction means and methods, sequencing, and critical path analysis.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or reviewing the work of other schedulers.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with executive leadership and project teams.
  • Previous Superintendent experience is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple schedules and priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
