Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Compensation: $149,000+ annually, depending on experience; higher compensation considered for exceptional candidates

About the Opportunity

An established commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced High-Rise Superintendent for opportunities in the Grand Rapids / Lansing market.

The ideal candidate has directly supervised construction of buildings 12 stories or taller and can lead field operations, coordinate complex trade sequencing, and maintain control of safety, quality, and schedule.

Candidates interested in relocating to Michigan are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day field operations and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel.

  • Develop and maintain look-ahead schedules aligned with the overall project schedule.

  • Manage vertical construction sequencing, site logistics, material deliveries, and trade access.

  • Coordinate structural work, building enclosure, MEP rough-in, and interior finishes.

  • Review construction documents and resolve field conflicts with the project management and design teams.

  • Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and communicate upcoming work requirements.

  • Monitor workmanship, conduct inspections, and address deficiencies promptly.

  • Maintain daily reports and document progress, manpower, deliveries, and project issues.

  • Enforce site safety expectations and support a well-organized jobsite.

  • Manage punch-list activities, inspections, and project closeout.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated superintendent experience on high-rise projects of 12+ stories.

  • Experience leading field operations through multiple phases of vertical construction.

  • Strong understanding of structural systems, building envelope, MEP coordination, and finish sequencing.

  • Ability to manage subcontractor performance and maintain schedule accountability.

  • Strong field leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules.

  • Proficiency with construction reporting and project management technology.
