A respected Seattle law firm is looking to add an Associate Attorney to its family law practice. This is an opportunity to work closely with experienced partners, develop strong litigation skills, and take ownership of cases in a supportive, close-knit environment.
The firm focuses primarily on family law and civil protection orders, with additional work involving Title IX matters, criminal defense, and personal injury. It has a strong reputation for legal writing and takes pride in producing high-quality work and well-prepared filings.
Handle family law matters, including divorce, custody, parenting plans, and related disputes
Work on civil protection order cases and court proceedings
Draft motions, briefs, pleadings, and other substantive legal documents
Prepare for and appear at hearings and other court proceedings
Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and the court
Collaborate with partners on case strategy while building the ability to independently manage a caseload
2–3 years of legal experience, ideally with a background in family law
Comfortable appearing in court and advocating for clients
Ability to manage cases independently and take ownership of deadlines and filings
Mature, practical approach to problem-solving and working through difficult situations
Collaborative personality and ability to work well in a small firm environment
Active Washington State Bar membership in good standing
