Metal Fabricator & Welder Job

About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fitter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for fabricating and building high-quality metal structures.

This role requires proficiency in various welding techniques and the ability to work with sheet metal, as well as experience using power tools and hand tools.

The Welder/Fitter will play a crucial role in ensuring that all projects meet our high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and/or pulse welding on carbon steel and other metals.
• Weld and fabricate large industrial components and equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
• Set up welding machines and select the appropriate settings for each application.
• Perform fit-up, tack welding, and final welding according to specifications.
• Use hand tools, grinders, and other fabrication equipment.
• Inspect welds for quality, accuracy, and proper penetration.
• Use cranes for lifting heavy materials as needed during the fabrication process.
• Work closely with fitters, fabricators, assemblers, and other production team members.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in welding with proficiency in FCAW, MIG, TIG, SMAW techniques; certification from AWS preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
• Experience welding carbon steel and heavy-gauge materials is preferred.
• Ability to perform quality welds while maintaining production requirements.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
