Chief / Senior Electrical Estimator

Huntersville, NC | Charlotte Metro

Compensation: Based on experience

An established electrical contractor with more than 30 years of experience is seeking a Chief or Senior Electrical Estimator in the Charlotte area. This opportunity is suited to an experienced electrical estimating professional who can develop accurate bids, evaluate project risk, and help guide preconstruction decisions.

The contractor serves a diverse mix of markets, including infrastructure, aviation, government, and energy projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical estimates from drawings, specifications, and bid documents.

• Perform takeoffs and develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.

• Request and evaluate supplier and subcontractor proposals.

• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, project risks, and potential cost-saving alternatives.

• Coordinate bid reviews and communicate pricing assumptions to leadership.

• Support project handoffs to operations after award.

• Depending on placement at the Chief or Senior level, lead estimating efforts and support other estimators.

Desired Background

• Demonstrated estimating experience with an electrical contractor.

• Strong understanding of electrical installation methods, labor productivity, and construction costs.

• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications.

• Proficiency with electrical estimating and takeoff software.

• Strong organization, communication, and attention to detail.

• Estimating leadership experience for consideration at the Chief level.
