Compensation: $25–$45 per hour, depending on experience
We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel-powered trucks, fleet vehicles, and heavy equipment for a waste and recycling operation in Le Mars, Iowa.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair diesel engines, heavy-duty trucks, and fleet equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and routine servicing.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Repair brakes, suspension, engines, transmissions, and related components.
Maintain equipment reliability and minimize operational downtime.
Document repairs, maintenance activities, and parts usage.
Follow established safety procedures and maintenance standards.
Qualifications
Experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy-Duty Truck Technician, Fleet Mechanic, or similar role.
Knowledge of diesel engines, diagnostics, and mechanical systems.
Experience with preventive maintenance and equipment troubleshooting.
Ability to use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and shop tools.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Relevant certifications or a CDL are a plus but not required.
