Job Description

A respected commercial general contractor in the Dallas–Fort Worth area is looking for a Preconstruction Director to lead estimating and precon for complex commercial work, including aviation and large-scale facilities. This is a senior leadership seat with real ownership of how projects are won and set up for success.

What You'll Do

• Lead the preconstruction and estimating function for commercial projects in the DFW market
• Partner with business development and operations to pursue and win complex work
• Oversee conceptual estimating, bid strategy, subcontractor outreach, and value engineering
• Build and mentor a high-performing precon and estimating team
• Guide risk review, constructability, and handoff from precon into operations
• Strengthen processes, tools, and standards so the department scales with the workload

What You Bring

• 15+ years with a commercial general contractor, including leadership of a preconstruction or estimating department
• Experience on large, complex commercial projects; aviation or mission-critical work is a strong plus
• Deep estimating and precon judgment, from conceptual through hard bid
• A collaborative style with owners, design partners, and field leaders
• Comfort setting strategy and still rolling up sleeves when a pursuit needs it
