gpac, a recruiting firm with 30+ years in business, is partnered with a well-established company in the structural steel and metals fabrication industry in the West Palm Beach, FL area. Our client is seeking a Steel Detailer to produce accurate shop and erection drawings for structural and miscellaneous steel projects.
Position Responsibilities:
- Create shop and erection drawings from contract documents
- Model structural and miscellaneous steel in 3D detailing software
- Check drawings for accuracy, connections, and constructability
- Prepare RFIs to resolve conflicts and missing information
- Incorporate revisions and approval comments
Position Essential Job Functions:
- Review architectural and structural drawings and specifications
- Produce CNC files, bills of material, and fabrication reports
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and the shop
- Follow company and AISC detailing standards
- Meet drawing submittal and release deadlines
Position Skills:
- 2+ years of structural or miscellaneous steel detailing experience
- Proficiency in Tekla Structures or SDS2 required
- Strong knowledge of AISC standards and steel connections
- Ability to read structural and architectural drawings
- Strong attention to detail
- Checking experience a plus for senior roles
