Senior Tax Manager

Location: Houston, TX

Overview

A large national CPA and advisory firm with an entrepreneurial culture and flexible work schedules is seeking a Senior Tax Manager for its Houston office. You will lead tax compliance and planning engagements and deliver high-quality client service through technical quality control, cost effectiveness, accuracy and timeliness.

Responsibilities

• Review private company C corporation, S corporation, partnership and individual federal and state returns, including consolidated federal and combined state returns
• Lead engagements from planning through completion, including compliance, planning and provision projects on time and within budget
• Review estimated tax payments and extensions
• Research and review tax issues and proactively solve client issues
• Coach, mentor and supervise staff, providing direct and meaningful feedback
• Serve as primary client contact with responsibility for billing, realization and collections
• Develop and execute a practice development plan, including networking and client expansion

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA license required
• 6+ years of domestic tax experience
• Strong leadership skills and ability to train, coach and mentor others
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects, clients and deadlines
