A well-respected commercial general contractor in North Texas is adding an Estimator to its preconstruction team. You'll put together accurate, competitive bids on a steady pipeline of commercial projects and work closely with project managers, superintendents and leadership to win the right work.
What You'll Do
• Prepare detailed estimates and bid packages for commercial construction projects
• Perform quantity takeoffs and review plans, specifications and addenda
• Solicit, level and analyze trade contractor and supplier bids
• Identify scope gaps, risks, alternates and value engineering opportunities
• Build budgets and help hand off awarded projects to the operations team
• Keep strong relationships with trade partners and suppliers across DFW
What You Bring
• 3+ years of commercial construction estimating experience, ideally with a general contractor
• A degree in construction management, engineering or equivalent experience
• Strong takeoff skills and comfort with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, ProEst or similar)
• Good understanding of construction means, methods and costs
• Clear communication, organization and attention to detail
